Around Cleckheaton..
Within short distances of Cleckheaton are the beautiful Pennine hills - with Holmfirth, Haworth and Hebden Bridge all within 20 miles.
Bradford is only a few miles down the road, with the newly reopened National Museum of Film Photography and Television (including the massive 3D IMAX cinema screen) and all the history of a busy cosmopolitan city, once the world centre of the worsted industry. (And don't forget all you spice lovers - Bradford is the UK centre of excellence for Curry!)
Huddersfield is also nearby and is the centre of Kirklees, the metropolitan authority that Cleckheaton belongs to. Huddersfield can boast further musical attractions, such as the internationally renowned Contemporary Music Festival.
Not-too-far away Leeds has some very important attractions, such as Tetley's Brewery Wharf - an original and imaginative museum of brewing by one of Britain's biggest brewers. And the newest attraction in the area - The New Royal Armouries Museum. These are just two of the great things Leeds has to offer as a major UK city.
Halifax has attractions too with its historic Piece Hall, and Eureka! - the award-winning discovery museum for kids of all ages! There is a multitude of sport available in the area - Rugby League and Soccer perhaps being the two most famous.
