Folk Clubs
There's more to folk than festivals!
Whilst annual events like the Cleckheaton Festival play a large part in sustaining the folk tradition and introducing the music to a wider audience, it is the network of folk clubs all over the country which keep it alive and happening on a regular basis the rest of the year round.
And apart from having some of the most awe-inspiring scenery and interesting places to visit in the UK, Yorkshire also has its fair share of excellent folk clubs!
So, if you are planning to holiday in Yorkshire this year, why not pay a visit to one of our many folk clubs while you're here.
As well as the Panther Club on Tuesday night, The Croppers Folk Club is on Friday nights at The Priory at Whitechapel, Cleckheaton, starting at 8.30pm.
For more information, visit the Yorkshire Folk Arts web site (yorkshire-folk-arts.com).Here you'll find details of where the clubs are situated, what night they are on etc.
Be sure however to contact the organiser or venue first, to ensure the club is still held on the night stated, the venue has not changed and if necessary, for directions on how to get there.
We look forward to giving you a real Yorkshire welcome!
