....John Stewart, once a member of US folk group The Kingston Trio (who made the US charts with the song 'Tom Dooley') wrote 'Daydream Believer', a big hit for The Monkees in the late 1960s.

.... Malvina Reynolds, the lady who wrote 'Little Boxes' one of Pete Seegers' best known recordings, also penned 'What Have They Done To The Rain', a major hit for The Searchers in the 60s.

....Elizabeth Cotton, who wrote 'Freight Train' (made popular in the UK by the Chas McDevitt Skiffle Group), once worked as a domestic for Ruth Crawford Seeger, mother of Pete and Peggy.
